Will you be the next campus poet?
The Sinterklaas poems have been sent out, but for those still brimming with inspiration, there’s good news: the Campus Poet Election 2025 is just around the corner. Have you caught the poetry bug and want to share your words with a larger audience? Then sign up!
Do you have stacks of poems you’d love to perform? This is your chance to provide the campus with poetic commentary for an entire year. As campus poet, you’ll bring themes like study, science, campus life, and current societal issues to life in poetic form. Your poems will be published a few times a year in Univers and performed live during Studium Generale events.
The campus poet will be elected during the Open Mic & Poetry Night on 26 February 2025. During this evening, participants will perform one or more of their submitted poems. A professional jury will evaluate both your submissions and your live performance to decide who will earn the title of campus poet 2025.

Any student or staff member of Tilburg University who is affiliated with the university throughout 2025 can participate. Here’s what you need to do:
- Send three poems, one of which must be on the theme of ‘campus life’, to studiumgenerale@tilburguniversity.edu by 10 February 2025.
- Your poems can be written in Dutch and/or English.
- Include your name, age, study or position, ANR, and contact details in your submission.
- Perform one or two poems on 26 February during the Open Mic & Poetry Night.
As campus poet, you will receive a stipend of €500 and immediately start enriching Tilburg University with your poetry throughout the year.
