Campus Poet Competition 2012 has started

Who will follow in Karel Soudijn’s footsteps? The Tilburg University Campus Poet Competition 2012 has now started. All students and staff members of Tilburg University can participate.

Tilburg Uni’s poetic talents that want to enter the competition should send in three poems, and at least one poem has to be inspired by Tilburg’s university life in the broadest sense. Meditations or daydreams during lecture hours, student house’s experiences, struggles with publication pressure or bureaucracy in education; surprise the judges with your poetry. The poems may be written in Dutch or English (or both).

An expert jury will judge the anonimized poems and select the five best poets. The jury will include, among others, Tilburg City Poet Esther Porcelain, Univers editor Tom van Nuenen and former campus poet Nathan de Groot.

The winner of the Campus Poet Competition 2012 will be announced on January 26 during the Poetry Festival at Tilburg University. The five selected poets will then recite their poems.

The Campus Poet will perform at several official occasions and can regularly publish a poem in Univers magazine.  The subject of these poems should be a current university topic. At the end of 012, all these poems will be bundled and be published in a limited edition.
