Woman assaulted on campus
Two women were sexually assaulted in Tilburg West on Sunday 7 August. One of the incidents took place at the Warandelaan on campus. In both cases a young man, apparently the same offender, groped the breasts of the women.
The assault took place at the university around 18.00 pm. The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, came to Univers to report it. She would like to warn other students for the man and urge them to be careful.
The former Tilburg University student was on campus to visit the library. After library closure, she decided to continue studying ‘behind the university restaurant’, where she was “attacked and molested by a boy of about twenty years old, with a gray jacket, dark short hair, dark eyes, dark skin and an orange scooter with blue letters.”
The incident is also reported to campus security, the victim said. Security team leader Erwin Schwering reports that security took care of the woman and the police arrived quickly. “Hopefully the victim’s statement and photo’s of the offender on the security camera will result in a quick arrest.”
According to the police, a 51-year-old woman from Tilburg was assaulted that same day at the Lavendelweg toward the Kruidenlaan. She saw a scooter with two men near the playground. While the passenger approached her he groped one of her breasts.
The vice squad has started an investigation. (in Dutch)
