Uni council approves reorganization plan
All university council parties have agreed to go ahead with the reorganization plan presented by the Executive Board. The plan about cutbacks to central services was discussed during the university council meeting last Friday.
With the approval of the reorganization plan by the university council Tilburg University immediately ended the temporary hiring freeze. It means that as from 5 November also external candidates can apply to job vacancies again.
Now that the hiring freeze is lifted, head of departments, if they have enough budget, can decide for themselves whether they want to to keep temporary staff, or turn their contracts into a permanent one.
The university council rejected the proposal by the Executive Board to reduce the number of computer workstations for students. Nine university-council members voted against the austerity proposal, six members voted in favor of it.
