Fireworks damage at TiU: one trash can
Tilburg University made it through New Year’s Eve okay. So far the technical department has only received one notification about fireworks damage. An improvement compared to last year, when three litter bins were blown up by firework.
Technical department employee Nico Schreuder is repairing the litter bin at the parking lot. “Someone has thrown a large firecracker in here. The trash can is completely ruined”, he says. But he is not impressed. “Throughout the year, far more – like tables, chairs, faucets and toilets – is demolished by students than during the New Year. Then this little firework damage is not so bad.”
