Snack machines in a bus

Hungry on the way to the university? Too bad. You are not allowed to bring your own food in the bus. But as an experiment, vending machines will be installed in 50 Connexxion buses in the Amsterdam region. So eating is allowed, as long as you buy a snack from the machine.

Connexxion says that this is an extra service for the traveler and the machines will feature products such as gingerbread and chocolate. Make sure you have exact change on you, because the machine accepts only cash and neither the machine not the driver will give you change.

If after three months the idea proves successful, it will be soon implemented all over the Netherlands.  The drivers will be stricter about the food brought by the travelers, but the topic of sanctions is still under consideration.
