Students healthier than expected

Students are often associated with an unhealthy lifestyle. This assumption is not quite right, according to a research done by Asa among more than 700 college and university students. The cigarettes are increasingly traded for an apple.

Asa conducted the research in the framework of the World Health Day, and came up with a surprising result. Many students have enough vitamins in their diet, sport  a lot and don’t smoke.

Forty percent of students take their health into account when choosing food. Vegetables are eaten on a daily basis by 44 percent of students, however for fruit that percentage is lower (28%). And yes, a student is obviously not averse to a good snack. Nevertheless, 34% are tempted to eat fast food  maximum two to three times per month.

More good news: last year only twenty% of students didn’t exercise. And only 18 % poison their lungs with a regular cigarette.

Katinka Habermehl-Reuling, Managing Director of Asa responds, pleased at the outcome: “Due to the irregular life of a student it is often thought that the lifestyle will also be irregular. The results of the study are positive; it show that students are aware of their own health and that they take it into account in their diet. ”

So instead of being lazy on the couch, go drag yourself to the fresh market. And then to the gym.
