Weed pass objection rejected by judge
Students who want to occasionally smoke a joint have a bad luck from the 1st of May. The objection of coffee shop owners against the introduction of the weed pass was rejected in a lawsuit. Anyone who wants to smoke a joint has to be a member of a local coffeeshop.
Coffeeshop owners see the law as discriminatory and as a violation of privacy. They fear that people will not be willing to register for a weed pass, and therefore get drugs illegally or plant them themselves. But the court has ignored those concerns last Friday. The law is being implemented to combat drug tourism.
