Review: Profile of Diederik Stapel
A few people involved in the affair Stapel speak to the press about their cooperation with him. The Broadcasting Humanistiche Omroep dared to create a profile of Diederik Stapel., however without Stapel himself, because he still doesn’t talk to the press.
They managed to speak to some people who have worked closely with Stapel. There are a few ex-students, a fellow professor (Nanne de Vries), and Yvo Smulders who referred to the publication pressure Stapel must have felt. No new facts in this documentary, but the programme gave a slightly better portrait of Stapel. Much remains shadowy, because he himself did not comment on the opinions.
The most refreshing in the programme were the images of Stapel as a young actor. The images did not really contribute to the discussion, but it was just something new.
