TiU student wins national requisition competition

Tilburg Law School student Marjolein Nijboer (27) from Breda has won the national requisition competition. The jury picked Nijboer over her competitors for her juridically sound plea, her excellent control of language and her lively attitude.

The students had fifteen minutes to make their statement. After the statement the students had to rebut attorney Cees Korvinus’ claim. By winning the competition Nijboer has won an ‘exclusive internship week’ at the public prosecutor’s office in Amsterdam and she may partake in Summercourt 2013.

The requisition is an argument held by the public prosecutor. In this statement, he or she argues what the defendant is suspected of and on what grounds the judge can convict him or her.
