Jenny Ligthart Award in memory of deceased professor

As a tribute to Jenny Ligthart, a professor of Macroeconomics, who passed away last year, Tilburg University introduces the Jenny Ligthart Award.

It’s an initiative of the Department of Economics and the CentER Graduate School and they are searching for the best Research Master in Economics student who transfers to a PhD in the CentER Graduate School.

The award will come with a prize of 1500 euros that can be spent on a research visit to a renowned institution abroad during the PhD. The award will be presented at the new years reception of the School.

“We launch this award in honor of Jenny’s contributions to research training in economics at Tilburg University. She played a key role in the education of PhD students, both as an Education Coordinator of the CentER Graduate School and as the academic advisor of a large number of Research Master and PhD students.”, Jaap Abbring, Director of Graduate Studies in Economics, explains.
