No more rooms available at Talent Square

Talent Square has no more rooms available. All the 455 studios are rented and the 250 rooms are inhabited as well. About a hundred people are awaiting for a studio on the waiting list.

“Circa ninety percent of the rooms are rented to foreign students. The remaining ten percent is rented by national students”, says Mylène Zwaans, general manager of Tilburg University. TBV is responsible for the rent, but vacancy will also affect Tilburg University. The university promises to reserve 250 rooms for degree seeking international students. If the rooms remain empty, TiU has to finance the unoccupied rooms.

The studios at Talent Square are also popular amongst international students. “Two-third of the studios is occupied by international students, the rest by Dutch students. The international students were particularly interested in a furnished studio”, a spokesperson of the housing corporation told Univers. The waiting list for studios contains mainly Dutch students (75 percent).
