Katerina blogs: In search of the holy grail
Now that my classmates and I are finally masters (of disaster?), we’re on the search of the holy grail (aka a job). Each of us has a different approach: if we’re desperate enough, we are sending out resumes and cover letters as if they were brochures. This is the “one fits all” technique.
The less desperate might not be too picky in terms of jobs, but at least spend some time writing a letter customized to the position. By the way, somehow, we’ve all ended up with a “problem-solving attitude”.
Then there are the ones with a plan, that know what they want and they wait for the kickass job they know they are the perfect fit for, they apply and they live happily ever after. I almost forgot; Once they’ve seen what’s ‘out’ there, some of us are not ready to leave the bubble. So instead we’re applying to phd’s or other masters etc.
So each of us follows a different path in search of their holy grail. The question is: is there a right and wrong? Thank god we have a problem solving attitude to help us in this quest!
