Yale shuts down student website

Two Yale students developed a brilliant website for their fellow students to use. However, university administrators  shut it down because it was against university rules.

The program allowed students to pick their classes based on evaluations for both the class and the professor. Yale Bluebook+, as it was originally called, was used by 5000 undergrads for over three semesters. Yale University had already approached its founders, Harry Yu and Peter Xu. Because of that, the two students had removed the name ‘Yale’ and ‘Bluebook’ from the site, because the official program Yale uses is also called Bluebook.

It didn’t help. The university’s main concern is that non-undergrads are able to view course ratings and Yale’s name is unfairly used. Students reproach the decision, and state that Yale stagnates innovation.
