Study in Belgium more expensive, but still cheap

Especially compared to its neighbors, Belgium’s higher education system has always been quite cheap. Despite protests from students, the Flemish government has decided to make it a little more expensive. But still, for students in a lot of European countries, our Southern neighbor is a cheap refuge to go to.

At the moment, studying at a university or university of applied science in Flanders will cost you 620 euros. Next year, from september 2015, this will be 890 euros. The Flemish government decided to do this because the contribution from the students (or their parents) was relatively low.

In Wallonia, (you know, because Belgium is actually two countries, but don’t tell them) the tuition is 837 euros. In The Netherlands, you pay 1906 euros a year.
