Marike Knoef has been a full professor of empirical microeconomics at Leiden University since 2018. She is also managing director of the scientific pension knowledge network Netspar and deputy crown-appointed member of the SER. About her appointment, Knoef says: “I look forward to contributing as the new Dean of TiSEM to a future-proof faculty at the heart of society. In doing so, we need each other because only together can we conduct high quality research and education, for which we connect with researchers and students in the Netherlands and abroad, other disciplines, and in practice.”

Rector Magnificus Wim van de Donk is also enthusiastic about her appointment: “Full Professor Marike Knoef is not only a leading and creative researcher, but also someone who very much embraces the great importance of education based on academic research by being an inspiring lecturer herself. In addition, she has demonstrated that she is also able to carry administrative responsibility and is the kind of leader we were looking for for our Tilburg School of Economics and Management.”

With her appointment, Knoef succeeds interim Dean and Full Professor Lex Meijdam.
