Correction of election results: PSA gets one seat after all, Front takes five
The preliminary results of the student council elections at Tilburg University have turned out to be incorrect. This has significant consequences for the newcomer Progressive Student Alliance (PSA) and the Front party. While it was initially announced that PSA had secured two seats on the University Council, it has now been revealed that the party will receive only one seat. As a result, Front’s seat count increases from four to five.

This was announced by the university’s Electoral Committee following a recount and recalculation of the remainder seats. The error came to light during a review on Tuesday, May 6, a few days after the preliminary results were published.
The external party responsible for managing the voting application had failed to allocate the remainder seats according to Article 7.11, paragraph 3 of Tilburg University’s Election Regulations during the initial count. This led to an incorrect distribution of seats being published.
The Electoral Committee regrets the error and has now released a new official report that includes the correct seat distribution. A total of nine seats are allocated in the University Council. The final result is as follows: Front receives five seats, SAM three, and PSA one.
Extra Seat for Vrijspraak
The error also affects the seat distribution at Tilburg Law School. The Vrijspraak party will now have six seats in the student section of the faculty council, up from five. This comes at the expense of Active TLS, which loses one seat and now drops from two seats to one.
