Raising money for mothers in war zones

Collecting beer crates with housemates, a students’ guerrilla action, or anything you can come up with to raise money; the Academic Forum calls on students to do so for radio 3FM Serious Request, the annual fundraising campaign for Red Cross projects the week before Christmas.

From December 18-24 three dj’s will lock themselves into a glass studio for six days, this year located in Leiden, and during their stay they will not eat but do everything in their power to get listeners to raise money for a charitable cause. It is broadcasted on radio 24/7 and the radio show always gets a lot of media attention. Listeners can put in a song request and pay for it by donating money. This year, radio 3FM Serious Request will ask attention for mothers in war and conflict zones: a silent drama for ten millions of women world-wide.

The winners of the Academic Forum Serious Contest fundraising at Tilburg University will be announced during the Nachtuniversiteit.

Student association I*ESN Tilburg already collected 288 euro’s for 3FM Serious Request with a bachelor auction  two weeks ago. During the radio 3FM Serious Request show, the association plans to go to the Serious Request Glass House in Leiden to donate the money.
