Blendle goes America

Good news for the international students at Tilburg University. The online kiosk Blendle is expanding to the United States next year. Therefore a lot of English content will be added. Co-founder Alexander Klöpping announced this at the media congress IGNITION in New York.

The start-up was launched in the Netherlands last year. Blendle is an online kiosk, and is often referred to as ‘the iTunes for journalistic content‘. Users can buy whole papers or magazines, but also -similar to iTunes- single articles. It became a success in The Netherlands, with more than 500.000 subscribers.

The exploration to the United States is possible through a 3 million investment from the New York Times. A couple of American papers, like the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, are already available in the Dutch version of Blendle. The American section will offer a bigger range of titels from papers and magazines.
