Hot chocolate back on campus: a victory for Fractie SAM
Students have their beloved hot chocolate back. After much protest and a campaign by Fractie SAM, the university has decided to offer the warm drink again.

It has long been a tradition among students, but last academic year, the university decided to remove the drink from the vending machines, deeming it an unhealthy choice. This decision upset many students, who questioned why the university was getting involved in their choices.
Fractie SAM also heard the discontent. Hot chocolate must return to the vending machines, the student council members decided. The party submitted a memo to the Executive Board, emphasizing that students are perfectly capable of deciding what is good for their health.
Treating with hot chocolate
Bringing back hot chocolate even became a key point in Fractie SAM’s election campaign. During the elections, the party handed out hot chocolate to passersby on campus.
The good news followed quickly. At the start of this academic year, the university confirmed that hot chocolate would return to the vending machines, according to Bob Musters from Fractie SAM. The popular drink is now available again in CUBE and the university library.
Exerting influence
‘Though it’s a small issue, it shows that we, as a party, can actually have an impact,’ said Bob Musters. SAM views the return of hot chocolate not only as a practical improvement but also as a symbol of student influence at the university.
