Mixed opinions about new catering service
Tilburg Universiy students have mixed opinions about the quality of the new careering services. This is the outcome of a small survey conducted by Univers.
Students and employees were asked by e-mail and twitter to give their opinion on the waiting time, prices, and the taste of the food in the Prisma building, Cobbenhagen building and the Food Plaza. Since January the catering is done by Sodexo.
“Top Croque is great, in my opinion. Expensive but good!”, student Yannick van den Hurk argues. Robin de Koeijer, as well, thinks the cartering services in the Prisma building are superb. “Payment is fast, and it’s easy to jump the queue with al lthese people who are not sure what to choose.” , Gertjan Scholten muses: “The soup, pizza and sandwiches are much tastier now.”
Not everyone is equally happy, though. Peter Güldenpfennig is less pleased with the new catering services. “No good at all. 5.50 euros for a plate of rice, peas, and sauce?” Internship coordinator Dineke Kolen: “A long waiting time in the Esplanade and insufficient supplies in the Food Plaza. Halal food is nice though, much better than the regular menu.” Laura Beerens thinks that in the Prisma building the queues of people are too long at noon. “The sandwiches are delicious though.” Student Linda thinks that the food quality has gone down badly.
Student Rolf Everhardus has his doubts about the furniture in the coffee corner of the Library. “I am happy with the renovation and the fresh, modern appearance of the library. The choice for sofas, in addition to the regular tables and chairs, is great”, he agues. “However, when buying the sofas, the intensive use of them by people who spill food should be taken into account. There is no harm done, because the covers can be taken off, and probably can be cleaned. But it would be nice if that would actually happen.”
“I understand that the students are to blame – the group I am also part of – but in my opinion it’s a shame that the sofas are not cleaned. If even students don’t want to sit on a sofa because of how dirty it is, then you might say it’s quite dirty.”
