‘Hot young girls’ at Tilburg University

Google Maps users looking for ‘Tilburg University’ will find that the university location received seven good ratings and reviews. Univers wonders about one of them, saying: ‘Nice University, lots of hot, young girls’. Is it helpful or inappropriate?

After questions of an Univers reporter, Tilburg University immediately responded and contacted Google last Friday. It is not clear whether this is a student’s joke or someone who tries to pay the university a nasty trick.

The sexist review could be bad for Tilburg University’s international reputation. Exchange students and their family regularly look for the university’s location via Google Maps.

Tilburg University spokesman Walther Verhoeven said that the university has requested Google ‘to remove the review as fast as possible’.

An interesting detail: two out of seven users who commented on the review, found it ‘helpful’. [MW/transl. YV]
