Katerina Blogs: Far far west
I live in West Tilburg but the further west I have ever been is Westermarkt. Last weekend though, I discovered the perks of Tilburg’s far west, also known as Reeshof!
Sunday morning, and we are off to support a friend running on the Reeshof short marathon. It turns out she had been racing in a different marathon the night before in the centre so instead, we decided to discover the peculiar suburb of Reeshof.
At first, we got lost looking for Reeshofbos. We ended up at Reeshof Park that was obviously nothing close to a ‘bos’. There we got acquainted with the proud tribe of ‘Sunday runners’. People of every age were jogging, running, walking all over the place. Just by looking at them, made you feel healthier. For me that was enough!
Then, with the help of our friend the ‘marathon runner’ we finally discovered Reeshofbos. Tall trees, fresh air, walking paths and tones of activities including laser game in the forest (!). I was amazed! So beautiful and so close to the university. If you follow the path behind the train station you are there! I guess the far far west is not that far after all. It just waits to be discovered!
