Paper beats the digital age at Sports Center

Everyone that has a digital sportscard for the Sports Center at Tilburg University needs to trade it in for a paper version. There are problems with the scanners at the center, and they’ve decided to fix this by moving on to paper cards for the moment.

Digital cards are currently being checked with manual scanners, as the Sports Center is under reconstruction. The scanners, however, have proven to be a problem. “Every student that was being checked kept getting a red light.”  says Ineke Hoebink, head of department at the Sports Center. “We really hate that it has to be this way. It’s never a good thing when people that have obviously paid for their cards still get a red light.”

That’s why the Sports Center has chosen to continue on with paper sportscards during the reconstruction works. Check the  Sports Center website later this week to find out how you can get your own paper card. You can use your proof of payment (receipt)  until you get your hands on a paper sportscard.

A new, working, system for the digital sportscard will be installed as soon as the reconstruction is finished. The CvB has already approved the requests for this new project. So the digital sportscard will return, but until that time: go get yourself a paper one!
