Two million extra euros to attract foreign students

The Dutch government extracts two million extra euros to get international students to come to The Netherlands. The money is extracted from the forty million that opposition party D66 gets to divide. The Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for international cooperation in higher education gets the money.

Nuffic-president Freddy Weima: “These investments will benefit the Dutch economy in the next few years. The start of activities in Turkey and South-Africa and the intensification of our work in Latin-America will put The Netherlands on the map. When students and researchers have to choose where to go, they will take our country in consideration. We need the inflow of talent, if we want to be a knowledge-based economy.”
