Stolen bikes in Cambridge could reach the sky

The number of bicycles stolen in Cambridge in the last nine years could reach the stratosphere, if they would be stacked wheel to wheel. Since 2005, 17.555 bikes have been stolen in the city, renowned for its two-wheeled transport.

In Cambridge, there are more bikes per head than anywhere else in the United Kingdom. The number of thefts that is known is probably just a start, most people don’t report a stolen bike.
