Parties for carnaval haters
Would you love to move to the North of the Netherlands for a weekend during carnaval, and do dressed up people give you the shivers? We have good news for you! This weekend, there are a lot of parties for people who don’t want to celebrate carnaval! Here is a list.
Kernafval
In the Hall of Fame, you can dance to some reggae, dancehall, drum & bass, and dubstep. No boring polonaise, but actual dancing. In two areas: ‘Bamsa’ and ‘Club Nix – Oostblok editie’.
Carnavalsrave
If you do like the dressing up part of carnaval, but you cannot stand the music, Club Smederij offers the perfect solution to your dilemma. You can go and submerge yourself in a carnaval rave. Rauschakustik, Aztec and Heiko Laux, among others, will make sure you have a good techno night, while you wear your pink bunny outfit.
Alles behalve carnaval
FYI: the name of this party in English is ‘Everything but carnaval’. People who actually hate carnaval can enjoy a perfect carnaval-free night in Stadscafé de Spaarbank. The dj’s in the bar will make sure you don’t see any glitter, onesies or orange/green scarves.
Crowbar
Still too close to carnaval? Go to 013 and listen to Crowbar, for true Metal fans. According to 013, the band is an important pioneer for New Orleans sludgemetal. Iron Walrus is the support act.
