Research into collaborations with Israeli partners is currently in full swing. Jägers cannot yet provide an exact date for the completion of the recommendations. However, she emphasizes that the committee has been actively working on it since the summer.

‘In recent weeks, significant progress has been made in the research, including the examination of sources and consultation with experts and stakeholders,’ says Jägers.

Although the committee is expediting the process, it prioritizes thoroughness. The Executive Board will await the committee’s recommendations before taking any further steps.

A Human Rights Assessment Framework

Before the summer, activists from Palestine Solidarity Tilburg urged the university to sever collaborations with Israeli partners. The Advisory Committee on Collaborations, established at the end of May, had yet to begin its work at that time.

First, the committee developed a broad human rights assessment framework to apply to collaborations related to severe human rights violations. A recommendation specifically targeting collaboration with Israeli partners had not yet been concretely formulated.
