Four Tilburg students to World University Games in Germany
On July 16, the FISU Summer World University Games will start: one of the largest and most prestigious sporting events for student athletes in the world. Four students from Tilburg University will travel to Germany to participate.

The World University Games – also known as the ‘Student Olympics’ – will take place this year in the Rhine-Ruhr region, spread across six German cities: Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Hagen and Berlin.
In twelve days, more than 10,000 student athletes and officials from over 150 countries will compete in various sports disciplines. The event will be broadcast worldwide and is expected to reach more than 300 million viewers.
Tilburg University represented in rowing and taekwondo
Four students from Tilburg have been selected to compete for the Netherlands. All four combine top-level sports with a study and have official talent status. Reinier Vriens (Economics), Pepijn Ermstrang (Organizational and Management Sciences), Thomas Driessen (Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence) will step into the rowing boat, while Aymen Achnine (International Law & Global Governance) will make an appearance in taekwondo.
A total of 108 Dutch students from universities and colleges will participate in the World University Games.
