Over 100 pieces of clothing collected for underprivileged families by Rotaract Tilburg
From jackets and sweaters to comfortable sweatpants, plenty of winter clothing was donated to the charity supported by Rotaract Tilburg. Last week, you could spot the volunteers on campus near the Koopmans Building, where they collected winter clothes for families in need.

The collection is an annual project of Rotaract, a volunteer organization for working and studying young adults committed to supporting charitable causes. Many of its members are students and alumni of Tilburg University.
In total, the drive collected over 100 clothing items. Berke Çurku, president of Rotaract Tilburg, said: “Although this is a nice amount, we had hoped for more, but we are grateful for every donation.”
All collected clothing is passed on to Tira Mi Su, an organization that ensures the clothes reach underprivileged families in Tilburg. In this way, they aim to help reduce poverty while doing so in a sustainable manner.
Not enough winter clothing
Rotaract started this collection because they noticed that far less winter clothing is donated compared to summer clothing. According to the organization, winter clothing is the most important for people in need in the Netherlands.
