Hans-Georg van Liempd Chairman EAIE

Hans-Georg van Liempd, a Senior Program Manager of internationalization at the university, has been appointed president of the European Association for International Education (EAIE). During the annual EAIE conference in Dublin in September, he was officially installed. Van Liempd is the third Dutchman who, since EAIE’s establishment in 1989, will be the head of the organization.

The EAIE operates as a European network for professionals in the international higher education. The organization is committed to improving the quality of internationalization in education and the professional development of its members. The EAIE supports these developments through training, publications and advocacy both in and outside the EU. More than 4,000 professionals from 80 countries participate in the annual conference.

Since accepting the position, Van Liempd visited France, Australia and South Africa to give presentations, attend meetings and conferences, and consult educational institutions, ministers and dignitaries.
